Experience
I joined Oxford Open Learning as a tutor in 2021, having worked as an English and English Literature teacher for 13 years prior across the public and private sectors. I taught the full KS3-5 range, following a variety of specifications, including international specifications. I stepped out of the classroom to care for my young children and have loved working flexibly online as a tutor since, with both school age and adult learners.I currently tutor students through courses in Years 7-9 of KS3 English, iGCSE English Language and A-Level English Literature. I’m still fascinated by the power of language and the connection, comfort and wisdom that you can find in literature; I love teaching and talking with others about it. I hope that you will find me a supportive, knowledgeable and approachable tutor, who can explain, model and use questioning to help you progress.

I have a lot of experience working successfully with students with anxiety and SEND, particularly ASD, now with the understanding of a parent’s perspective; we have been through the diagnosis and EHCP process and my son attends a specialist school. I love being able to share my experience and advice with those who have found school tricky or are on the path to diagnosis.Availability (UK time)
