Summary

Passionate, supportive Science tutor and teacher with 44 years of experience as a teacher and online tutor. I have worked with students from 11 years of age up, with varying needs and abilities in the UK and worldwide. The past 10 years I have loved working with OOL students through iGCSE and KS3.

Experience

I am a highly motivated teacher of Science with 34 years’ experience in Secondary schools and 10 years as an Online tutor with OOL. I teach and tutor through positive relationships and clear guidelines, supporting students through KS3, KS4 at iGCSE level for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Combined and Single Science . My varied exam marking experience with a number of boards e.g EDEXCEL, OCR and AQA, whilst working with students at all levels and worldwide, allows me to pass on useful exam skills, during your studies. This is particularly important for application style questions in all areas of Science. This wealth of experience is used in a warm , passionate, friendly and supportive approach, whilst motivating students to achieve their personal best. I have supported many student teachers in schools too, working to gain their QTS.
After all these years I still love it when a student finally cements the ideas together. Through patience, understanding and listening to where they are struggling, helps me to find their gap in terms of knowledge and understanding and is vital to ensure further progress.

Love our family, 2 dogs, trips to the coast at the weekend and European holidays when I can. I speak French:- dreadfully :)
