At the age of 10, I was awarded a 7-year scholarship to Loughborough Grammar School and then studied Mathematics at University of Keele and Oxford.I didn't always find Maths easy but I worked hard at it. I believe I make a good tutor because I know what it's like to struggle in the subject.Qualifications

You'll find I am a very experienced tutor, and one who has tutored pupils across the entire abilities spectrum.I have been teaching and tutoring for over 40 years now, with an excellent rate of success and glowing references from literally scores of past pupils. I have a very strong Mathematical background and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources over this time. I have a proven track record and am committed to helping children reach their potential.
I have taught in both Grammar ands Independent Schools.
Maths is a subject I love and have a knack for explaining concepts slowly and carefully so the student grasps each topic. I like to “push” a student to think about their Maths and to bring out the best in them. My speciality is setting challenging questions to make pupils think about their Maths.
I have written Maths 11+ and 13+ papers, as well as the following guides for various websites : 10 tips for tackling a Maths exam, Exam Techniques, Exam Tips for GCSE, How To Do Well In Mathematics, How to Study & Revise and How To Write Mathematics.
I also tutor for The Open University.
