Experience
After studying Classics (Latin and Ancient Greek) at Oxford, and Theology/Church History at Durham, and following a spell working in politics and PR, I became a Classics teacher in 2014. Since then, I have taught Latin and Ancient Greek to pupils from beginners in Year 7 to A Level and Cambridge Pre-U level. Until July 2024 I was Head of Classics at an Academy school in Lancashire. I then began working for Oxford Open Learning as a tutor.More
Whilst at Oxford I specialised in Ancient Historians such as Tacitus and Thucydides, and developed a life-long interest in Archaeology. One of my greatest pleasures as a teacher was leading school trips to ancient sites such as Rome, Athens and Pompeii. Whilst at Durham I mostly read Mediaeval and Renaissance Latin works, and I love to bring a wide range of sources and materials into my Latin teaching.I now live in Essex, and have two children - a son aged 6 and a daughter aged 2.
