Experience

Having taught in secondary schools and a sixth form college for over 15 years I have a wide range of experiences that I can use to support you on your journey. From studying a Biological Sciences Degree at Lancaster University I decided to pursue a career in education starting in secondary schools teaching both KS3 and GCSEs to all abilities. It was here that I then began teaching A’Level Biology and Applied Science to sixth-form students and found that this was the age group that most interested me. From this, I gained a position in a sixth-form college as a senior tutor supporting students in university applications as well as teaching both A Level and GCSE Science. I have also marked exam papers for many years.

For the last 9 years, I have been supporting students who have chosen to study online. This has brought with it many challenges however, very rewarding and something that I really enjoy.

Beyond tutoring I love the outdoors and in contrast dancing. Spending my weekends either, hiking, climbing, biking or on the water with Swing and Charleston dancing to the week.
