Experience
To give you a bit of information about my background, I have over 20 years of experience teaching French and Spanish in UK schools and colleges, from KS3 level through to A Level and IB Diploma. I have worked as Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Lead Practitioner and Curriculum Manager (Humanities & Languages), all of which have given me extensive experience supporting students of all abilities to achieve their language learning goals. I am also an examiner for GCSE Spanish and IB Spanish, which gives me excellent insight into assessment criteria and what examiners are looking for in student work. My love for international affairs, languages, literature, history and culture developed through my university studies, which included a year abroad studying at the University of Vigo(Spain) and the University of Benin, Togo (West Africa). I have spent considerable time living and studying abroad taking students on educational trips, attending training courses, and enjoying holidays exploring different regions. I also completed an MA Diplomacy & International Relations and I have experience teaching a range of subjects at KS3 (English, MFL, Science & Humanities). I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning Spanish and supporting them to reach their full potential, whether they are complete beginners or working towards advanced qualifications. My interests outside of teaching include living by the beautiful Cornish coast and spending time outdoors with my family and our two dogs. I enjoy swimming, coastal walks, arts and crafts, playing the piano, and singing.
