Experience
I have over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish in UK schools and colleges, from KS3 level through to A Level and IB Diploma. I have worked as Head of Modern Foreign Languages, Lead Practitioner in MFL, and have extensive experience supporting students of all abilities to achieve their language learning goals. I am also an examiner for GCSE Spanish and IB Spanish, which gives me excellent insight into assessment criteria and what examiners are looking for in student work.My love for the Spanish language, literature, history and culture developed through my university studies, which included a year abroad studying at the University of Vigo in Spain. I have spent considerable time living and studying in Spain, and have visited the country many times - taking students on educational trips, attending training courses, and enjoying holidays exploring different regions. I have also lived and studied in Togo, West Africa, which has given me a broader international perspective and deep appreciation for different cultures and languages.

I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning Spanish and supporting them to reach their full potential, whether they are complete beginners or working towards advanced qualifications.My interests outside of teaching include living by the beautiful Cornish coast and spending time outdoors with my family and our two dogs. I enjoy swimming, coastal walks, arts and crafts, playing the piano, and singing.
