I am a senior Lecturer in Medical Microbiology within a UK Medical School, with experience teaching across KS3, KS4, A level and university settings. I am passionate about teaching and have received awards for Outstanding Student Support, Outstanding Feedback, Outstanding Project Supervision and Enabling Student Success. I currently lead on scaffolding initiatives, supporting students to build strong academic foundations and transition confidently into higher education. Alongside teaching, I am active in microbiology and medical education research. My work includes infection and antimicrobial resistance, as well as research into how students learn and transition successfully through education. This means my tutoring is informed by up to date science and evidence based teaching approaches. I provide structured, supportive tutoring across KS3, KS4 and A level biology, helping students consolidate core knowledge, strengthen exam technique and build confidence in assessments.

As a parent of five and grandparent of six, I understand how young people learn and the importance of patience, encouragement and clear explanations. I am passionate about helping students build confidence as well as knowledge. I specialise in structured, supportive biology tutoring that strengthens understanding, sharpens exam technique and develops independent study skills.
